Anyone who loved or followed the culinary career of Julia Child while she was alive should be excited to learn that her biography is coming to feature film this summer. We have blogger/author Julie Powell to thank for that. She is responsible for creating an enormous cooking experiment for herself called The Julie/Julia Project and then blogging about it. She set out to make every recipe in Julia Child’s culinary masterpiece, Mastering the Art of French Cooking- in just one year.
Julie Powell quickly became an internet sensation with followers around the globe who looked forward to her animated posts that featured brutally honest kitchen mishaps, frustrations about the odd and sometimes grotesque ingredients and, of course, successfull dinner parties as well. Her blog became such a sensation that a book followed the experiment: Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen. I’m not sure I could have handled the tiny kitchen part…
